Ahhhh Nostalgia

As we speak I'm casually watching the Georgetown and St. Johns slug it out in a tight match up in Madison Square Garden. It's actually a pretty good game and that is refreshing seeing as how I don't get to watch nearly as much college basketball as I used to(bills--->work--->work--->bills). The Hoyas may not have the star power of previous years and God only knows when St. John's will pull a top 50 player again.

Unless you've been living under a rock for about 12 years, more than likely you are familiar with Allen Iverson(AKA AI, AKA The Answer, AKA I Broke Off Jordan Something Wicked). During his college days at Georgetown, he went up against one of the most hyped players in college basketball history. Wait for it...that's right, Felipe Lopez. Felipe Lopez was one of the first to receive the LeBron treatment coming out of high school being called the "Next Jordan". Highly touted coming out of Rice High School in NYC, he was named player of the Year in 94'. Sports illustrated even put him on a cover issue before stepping foot on the collegiate hardwood.

Needless to say, Iverson and Lopez's careers went two totally different directions respectively. Lopez went on be a good college player and was selected late in the first round of the NBA Draft, but his professional career lasted only 5 seasons.

Oh yeah, St. Johns won by 2...
